Massimo Tonini is the new Export Director of the Santa Margherita Wine Group.
With a degree in Foreign Trade from Ca’ Foscari University in Venice, Tonini boasts great experience and a rich managerial background in the field of wine exports, with roles of ever-increasing responsibility in companies of both national and international importance. Massimo Tonini, who comes to Santa Margherita from the Wine Division of the Campari Group, will be responsible for developing and implementing strategy for all of the Group’s brands in all of its foreign markets, coordinating the work of the export managers and that of the customer service department.
With 60% of its turnover coming from markets worldwide, the Santa Margherita Group – owned by the Marzotto family – displays a strong propensity for exporting, which the recently approved three-year plan aims to develop still further. The consolidated turnover for 2008 of 88 million Euros (+6% compared to 2007) and the investments planned over the next three years for replanting vineyards and refurbishing the wineries - in the order of 17 million Euros – confirm the Santa Margherita Group as one of the leading and most dynamic corporations in the Italian wine sector.
